  1. Motion to adopt the minutes of the Rapides Parish Police Jury held in Regular Session on April 8, 2019 as published in the Official Journal.
  2. Motion that approved bills be paid.
  3. Motion to accept the Treasurer’s Report. (Finance 5/6)

APPOINTMENTS TO BE ANNOUNCED AT NEXT MEETING Sewerage District No. 1 for a four (4) year term to fill the expiring term of Mr. Robert Wooley. Term will expire May 10, 2019. Cheneyville Recreation District for a five (5) year term to fill the expiring term of Mr. Bill Poole. Term will expire June 1 4, 2019. Gravity Drainage District No. 2 for a two (2) year term to fill the expiring term of Mr. Emile Williams. Term will expire June 12, 2019. Gravity Drainage District No. 2 for a two (2) year term to fill the expiring term of Ronnie Venson. Term will expire June 12, 2019. Ruby-Wise Recreation District for a five (5) year term to fill the expiring term of Mr. Cade Strong. Term will expire June 14, 2019. Waterworks District No. 3 for a five (5) year term to fill the expiring term of Mr. Robert Sibley. Term will expire June 14, 2019.

  1. Motion to delete from the Rapides Parish Fire District No. 5, the equipment listed below, as it is broken and no longer suitable for public use: Asset Description Disposal 9408 Kyocera KM2030 Copier Scrap to be auctioned (Finance 5/6)
  2. Motion to authorize to secure financing for the Rapides Parish Fire District No. 11 for the purchase of a new Engine Apparatus approved in November of 2018. (Finance 5/6)
  3. Motion to transfer responsibility from the Rapides Parish Highway Department, to the Office of Economic and Workforce Development, the following asset number: Asset Number Description 9995 2006 – Expedition VIN# 1FMPU15516LA14747 (Finance 5/6) REGULAR MEETING MAY 13, 2019
  4. Motion to authorize the purchase of two (2) Brush Trucks, for Rapides Parish Fire District No. 10. The trucks will be purchased by using an existing contract with Jefferson Parish that the Rapides Parish Police Jury can piggyback on. This purchase being requested by the Plainview Volunteer Board of Directors. (Finance 5/6)
  5. Motion to award Bid #2729-1 – Purchase of Used Track Hoe to lowest bidder – Scott Equipment for the amount of $99,494.00 as recommended by the Parish Engineer and Purchasing Agent. (Finance 5/6)
  6. Motion to delete from the Rapides Parish Highway Department Asset/Inventory Program Asset #10394 (2008 Dodge Ram), as recommended by the Parish Engineer. (This vehicle caught fire on January 4, 2019 and is considered by the insurance company a total loss, with them offering to pay $8288.03, less deductible.) (Finance 5/6)
  7. Motion to transfer from the Rapides Parish Administration Asset/Inventory Program to the Rapides Parish Highway Department the following asset number: Asset Number Description 10840 2013 – Ford Explorer VIN# 1FM5K7B83DGA02488 (Finance 5/6)
  8. Motion to authorize to advertise for Bids on a 2019 Truck Cab/Chassis, for Rapides Parish Fire District No. 8, to accommodate existing equipment as recommended by the Cotile Volunteer Board. (Finance 5/6)
  9. Motion to enter into an agreement with the Louisiana Boat Racing Association, a member of the National Boat Racing Association, to hold Boat Racing on Kincaid Lake, May 17–19, 2019 and authorize the President to sign same. (Finance 5/6)

  2. Motion to adopt an ordinance to amend and reenact Section 18-4.2(i) Speed Limits so as to set a speed limit of 15 mph on the Obanion Road, Ward 10, District A and authorize the Rapides Parish Highway Department to erect speed limit signs. (Public Works 5/6)
  3. Motion to adopt an ordinance to amend and reenact Section 18-4.2(e) Speed Limits, so as to remove the Vit Road, Ward 11, District C, from the section of 35 mph speed limits, because it is also in the section of 30 mph speed limits, and authorize the Rapides Parish Highway Department to erect speed limit signs.
