NOTICE OF SPECIAL POLICE JURY MEETING

  1. Motion to rescind the advertisement to receive bids for Various Road Improvements in Rapides Parish for 2017, (Bid #2569) to be paid from Various Road Funds as budgeted, due to not having Jury authorization to advertise and to direct staff to return any unopened bids received in response to this invitation.
  2. Motion to authorize to advertise to receive bids for Various Road Improvements in Rapides Parish for 2017, (Bid #2569) to be paid from Various Road Maintenance Funds as budgeted.
  3. Motion to authorize Fire Protection District No. 6 of Rapides Parish to enter into a buy sell agreement with Roy Fore, Jr., to purchase that tract of land being 1.238 Acres in SW ¼ of the SE ¼, Section 37, T5N-R3E bearing the consideration of $160,000.00, and authorize the President to sign any and all necessary documents to effect the purchase, subject to the value being supported by an appraisal , subject to clear title, inspection and approval of Steve Fontenot, P.E., survey showing no encroachments and subject to approval of the buy sell agreement by Legal Counsel.

There were present: Craig Smith, Scott Perry, Davron “Bubba” Moreau, Joe Bishop, Theodore Fountaine, Jr., Richard Vanderlick, Sean McGlothlin and Richard Billings.

Absent were Police Juror: Oliver “Ollie” Overton

REGULAR MEETING

Also present were: Mr. Dennis Woodward, Public Works Director, Mr. Thomas

  • O. Wells, Legal Counsel; and Ms. Laurel Smith, Secretary.

The invocation was given by Mr. Dennis Woodward.

The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Mr. Joe Bishop.

The Police Jury of the Parish of Rapides, State of Louisiana, was duly convened as the governing authority of said Parish by Hon. Richard Billings, President, who welcomed all present and then stated that the Police Jury was ready for the transaction of business.

The President asked if there was any public comment on any agenda item, to which there was no response.

On motion by Mr. Joe Bishop, seconded by Mr. Bubba Moreau, to rescind the advertisement to receive bids for Various Road Improvements in Rapides Parish for 2017, (Bid #2569) to be paid from Various Road Funds as budgeted, due to not having Jury authorization to advertise and to direct staff to return any unopened bids received in response to this invitation. On vote the motion carried.

On motion by Mr. Bubba Moreau, seconded by Mr. Richard Vanderlick, to authorize to advertise to receive bids for Various Road Improvements in Rapides Parish for 2017, (Bid #2569) to be paid from Various Road Maintenance Funds as budgeted. On vote the motion carried.

On motion by Mr. Joe Bishop, seconded by Mr. Richard Billings, to authorize Fire Protection District No. 6 of Rapides Parish to enter into a buy sell agreement with Roy Fore, Jr., to purchase that tract of land being 1.238 Acres in SW ¼ of the SE ¼, Section 37, T5N-R3E bearing the municipal address of 1250 Hwy 115, Deville, LA 71346, for the consideration of $160,000.00, and authorize the President to sign any and all necessary documents to effect the purchase, subject to the value being supported by an appraisal , subject to clear title, inspection and approval of Steve Fontenot, P.E., survey showing no encroachments and subject to approval of the buy sell agreement by Legal Counsel. On vote the motion carried.

On motion by Mr. Joe Bishop, seconded by Mr. Richard Vanderlick, there being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 4:10 p.m.
