NOTICE OF SPECIAL POLICE JURY MEETING

  1. Motion to go into Executive Session to discuss the pending litigation “Rapides Parish Police Jury vs. the City of Alexandria,” Civil Suit No. 251373-F.
  2. Motion to authorize the sale of Asset/Inventory #6541 & #6542, desk and credenza at 10% of the purchase price.
  3. Any other business that may properly come before the Police Jury.

Police Jurors, Davron “Bubba” Moreau, Joe Bishop, Theodore Fountaine, Jr., Richard Vanderlick, Oliver “Ollie” Overton, Jr., Sean McGlothlin and Scott Perry, Jr.

Also present were: Mr. Shane Trapp, Courthouse and Jail Building Superintendent, Mr. Bruce Kelly, Treasurer, Mr. Tom Wells, Legal Counsel and Ms. Laurel Smith, Secretary.

The invocation was given by Mr. Scott Perry.

The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Mr. Craig Smith.

The Police Jury of the Parish of Rapides, State of Louisiana, was duly convened as the governing authority of said Parish by Hon. Richard Billings, President, who welcomed all present and then stated that the Police Jury was ready for the transaction of business.

The President asked if there was any public comment on any agenda item, to which there was no response.

SPECIAL MEETING

JANUARY 28, 2015

On motion by Mr. Ollie Overton, seconded by Mr. Richard Vanderlick, to go into Executive Session to discuss the pending litigation “Rapides Parish Police Jury vs. the City of Alexandria,” Civil Suit No. 251373-F.

Roll call vote to go into Executive Session was as follows:

YEAS: Richard Billings, Craig Smith, Davron “Bubba” Moreau, Joe Bishop, Theodore Fountaine, Jr., Richard Vanderlick, Oliver “Ollie” Overton Jr., Sean McGlothlin, Scott Perry, Jr. NAYS: none ABSTAINED: none ABSENT: none

On roll call vote the motion carried 9-0 at 4:07 p.m.

EXECUTIVE SESSION

On motion by Mr. Joe Bishop, seconded by Mr. Craig Smith, to return to open session. On vote the motion carried at 4:45 p.m.

On motion by Mr. Ollie Overton, seconded by Mr. Richard Vanderlick, to accept the contract as drafted and accepted between the City of Alexandria and Rapides Parish Police Jury, agreeing to pay $10,000 Attorney fees, execution of contract contingent upon the City of Alexandria sending an acceptable definition of Attachment A. On vote the motion carried.

On motion by Mr. Ollie Overton, seconded by Mr. Sean McGlothlin, to authorize the sale of Asset/Inventory #6541 & #6542, desk and credenza at 10% of the purchase price. On vote the motion carried. Mr. Joe Bishop voted nay.

On motion by Mr. Ollie Overton, seconded by Mr. Sean McGlothlin, there being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 4:56 p.m.
